Welcome to the APDUK Information section

In this Section will try to provide information about Auditory Processing Disorder from many types of web site and from many sources.
Some web site names still use the CAPD name for APD. Auditory Processing Disorder, APD, was formally Central Auditory Processing Disorder, CAPD, the change happened as a result of the first Bruton Conference concerning APD in August 2000.
This has recently been confirmed in the ASHA (C)APD Technical Report 2005

Since We started this web site there have been many developments regarding APD in the UK.
Some of these developments can be found in the new APD section of the web site, in particular the
Medical Research Council's APD pamphlet, 2004.

We still strive to locate the best Information regarding  APD on the Internet and the related disabilities from both UK professionals and institutions;
UK Professionals and Institutions with an interest in APD Page
as well as international  sources from around the globe.

There are many Related Invisible Disabilities from which both Children and Adults suffer.  They are independent disabilities but they sometimes overlap each other. Some actually mask others, this is why we at APDUK promote a transdiscipline appproach to research, diagnosis and care.
More recent additions spefically related to APD, are the Auditory and Visual Dyslexia  and a Visual-Spatial Learner links pages

We have an Adult APDs Page ,which has links to information web pages and Support groups.

 The Parent's (C)APD Web sites page provides links to probably the best information about APD on the internet.

From experience we have also found some other useful links to sites and organisations in the UK which can be very useful. UK Disability and Educational Links page
