Some web site names still use the CAPD name for APD. Auditory Processing Disorder, APD, was formally Central Auditory Processing Disorder, CAPD, the change happened as a result of the first Bruton Conference concerning APD in August 2000.

There are many Related Invisible Disabilities from which both Children and Adults suffer. They are independent disabilities but they sometimes overlap each other. Some actually mask others, this is why we at APDUK promote a transdiscipline appproach to research, diagnosis and care.
